Adriano: I'm back for good

Adriano is back in Italy and eager to begin a new era with Jose Mourinho’s Inter. “I’m here to stay.”

His career was in tatters when he left the peninsula in November for physical and psychological rehabilitation in Brazil, but with his loan spell at San Paolo expired and a recall to the Selecao, he is ready to return.

“I am happy to be back and hope everything goes well this year,” said Adri as he landed at Milan’s Malpensa Airport.

“I am here to stay, that is for sure. I want to salute all the Inter fans and tell them I am really happy to return.”

One of the major reasons behind his departure was the on-going row with Coach Roberto Mancini, so Adriano did not hide his joy when the tactician was fired.

New boss Mourinho has already flown out to Brazil to see the 0-0 World Cup qualifier with Argentina and had a “positive” talk with the player.

“I spoke to Mourinho on the telephone, but for the moment nothing more,” explained L’Imperatore.

“I am back home with my friends and my girlfriend and I am relaxed. These seven months have gone well and I am much better now.”
