UEFA Cup Draw: Italian Perspective

The Uefa Cup draw took place today and the Italian team had mixed fortunes, being paired against English and Spanish teams.

Sampdoria were handed the most difficult round, facing up against Sevilla of Spain, as well as Standard Liege. Milan and Udinese will need to play against the English duo of Portsmouth and Tottenham. Napoli did not make it to the group stage of the competition as they were narrowly knocked out by Portuguese outfit Benfica

Group A – Schalke, PSG, Manchester City, Racing, FC Twente
Group B - Benfica, Olympiacos, Galatasaray, Hertha Berlin, Metalist
Group C – Sevilla, Stuttgart, Sampdoria, Partizan, Standard Liege
Group D – Tottenham, Spartak Moscow, Udinese, Dinamo Zagreb, NEC
Group EMilan, Heerenveen, Braga, Portsmouth, Wolfsburg
Group F – Hamburg, Ajax, Slavia Prague, Aston Villa, Zilina
Group G – Valencia, Club Brugge, Rosenborg, FC Copenhagen, Saint-Etienne
Group H – CSKA Moscow, Deportivo, Feyenoord, Nancy, Lech Poznan
