Werder Bremen’s Claudio Pizarro and Markus Rosenberg struck to seal a 2-1 win over Inter Milan in Champions League Group B on Tuesday. The Germans deserved their victory and finished third in the group. Inter had already qualified as group runners-up, but after another disappointing European performance they were somewhat lucky to progress. Pizarro netted from close range on 63 minutes after Julio Cesar could not hold onto Mesut Ozil’s strike. Rosenberg added a second nine minutes from time after more poor Inter defending before substitute Zlatan Ibrahimovic sent in a consolation goal for Inter from just outside the box.
