Del Piero Keen To Continue Improving

Juventus star Alessandro Del Piero scored his 250th goal for the club last week, but all he wants is to continue improving.

Del Piero added the fourth goal and the nail in the coffin for Reggina to seal a 4-0 win in Turin last  week, registering his 250th goal for the club since he debuted for the Bianconeri in 1993 as a substitute for Fabrizio Ravanelli.

The 34-year-old is now third in the all-time list of goal scorers at a single Italian club. Only Giuseppe Meazza, who hit 282 for Inter Milan, and Angelo Schiavio, with 253 goals for Bologna, have scored more goals for one team.

Del Piero is sure to take second place in that list soon, as he needs only four to pass that record and he may even claim top spot, if his form at the Bianconeri allows him to stay at the top for long enough.

When asked about the milestone the Juve captain responded, “When will I get to 300? That depends on me and on Juve. I’m not thinking much about the record but about new objectives. Two years ago I was at 200 and I didn’t expect to add another 50 so quickly.”

Del Piero may get a chance to further that record tonight as Juventus take on BATE Borisov in the last game of the Champions League group stage.
