Claudio Ranieri was fired from Juventus last season when there were only two games left to go before the curtains came down. Since the ex-Chelsea boss had a contract until 2010, it is believed that he handed in an official request to be registered as the coach for the coming season. Since Ciro Ferrara has already been appointed as the boss of the Turin based outfit, it means that Ranieri cannot take the reins, and that the Zebre are in breach of the contract.
Although this means that la Vecchia Signora would have to pay close to £1 million to their former tactician, Tuttosport believes that this is to force the club into agreeing to a mutual termination of the contract. This would allow Ranieri to look for a job elsewhere.
The Catanzaro legend has been heavily linked with running the affairs of Zenit St. Petersburg.
