Former Italy coach Arrigo Sacchi believes Inter will cause problems to the reigning European Champions Barcelona on Wednesday, when the two teams meet in Milan.
Sacchi has admired the depth in the Nerazzurri squad, and consequently claimed that the players are highly motivated by their coach Jose Mourinho.
The bald-headed former Milan coach also stated that la Beneamata have great strikers, hinting at a reference to Cameroon international Samuel Eto’o and his Argentine strike- partner Diego Milito. He went on to say that the club are quite competitive with a solid defence and effective midfield. He did not single out any players but rather praised the group effort and the compactness of the team.
The clash with the Catalan club could turn into an epic encounter with a number of sub-plots including the swap between Eto’o plus cash for Barca for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as well as Brazilian Maxwell’s transfer from Inter to the Camp Nou.
The links do not end there since Mourinho served in Barca as an assistant to the late Sir Bobby Robson.
Finally, Brazilian midfielder Thiago Motta featured for the Catalans for several seasons before he moved to Atletico Madrid, then Genoa, and eventually found his way to the Biscion this season.
With Inter relying on Eto’o and Milito upfront and Barca having Ibrahimovic and Frenchman Thierry Henry, not to mention Argentine star Lionel Messi, both sets of supporters and football fans in general will be expecting fireworks come Wednesday evening.
