Sampdoria forward Giampaolo Pazzini suffered a broken nose after a late collision with Lazio’s Fernando Muslera and he was sent to the hospital following the end of the match.
Pazzini had earlier scored during the first-half to put his team ahead, before the encounter eventually ended in a draw.
According to il Corriere dello Sport, the striker suffered a fracture but there is no time-table for the recovery and it is uncertain whether the player will be available for the weekend game.
The 25-year-old was hurt when he took the full brunt of Lazio goalkeeper Muslera’s punched clearance.
