AnconaAnother week of games in the Serie B breezes by as the unrelenting action continues in the second best league in Italy.

Ancona got a thumping 3-1 result against table toppers Frosinone to move into the fourth place, two points behind the league leaders. The Dorici now have a realistic chance of going into pole position, as they have a game in hand. Surraco gave the hosts an early goal after some good play with Colacone. A little past the half hour mark, Mazzeo put the game back on terms, but goals from Miramontes and De Falco ensured that the home side took all three points.

Elsewhere in Campania, Salernitana trumped Crotone 4-1 in a fight to get out of the basement. Stendardo sent in a header to give the hosts an early lead, and his team-mate Kyriazis was asked to take an early shower following an argument between the two sides. The ill tempered game went to new heights, when Bonvissuto reduced his side to ten men as well, when he remarkably picked up a second booking as early as the 11th minute of the game. From this point on, the hosts dominated the encounter, and Cozza bagged a brace and Pestrin scored late on to kill the game. A goal from Zito was only academic, as his side were certain to emerge second best from the ordeal.

Here are the results:

Ancona 3-1 Frosinone
Brescia 4-1 Albinoleffe
Cesena 2-2 Grosseto
Empoli 4-2 Ascoli
Gallipoli 0-3 Lecce
Padova 0-0 Triestina
Piacenza 2-3 Modena
Salernitana 4-1 Crotone
Sassuolo 1-0 Cittadella
Torino 2-0 Reggina
