Former Inter coach Roberto Mancini has finally terminated his contract with the Nerazzurri, which has consequently seen him being linked with taking the reins at Real Madrid.
The former Sampdoria and Lazio star has freed himself from any contractual obligations that could have kept him from taking over Los Galacticos, in the event that the Madrid club decides to hire him. The inconsistent results and recent losses in the Champions League and Copa del Rey have heaped tremendous pressure on Coach Manuel Pellegrini.
If Los Blancos go on a run of poor results, then Pellegrini will likely be shown the door. The timing of Mancini’s contract termination is rather interesting, and Sky Sport 24 confirmed the rescinding of the contract which was set to end in 2012.
The official website of the Nerazzurri also carried a statement confirming the situation with Mancini based on “mutual consent” as indicated by the official statement. A sum of around €11 million has been rumoured as the compensation to be paid by the Biscion to their former tactician.
