Inter fullback Douglas Maicon will not be moving away from the San Siro, after rumours linking him to Manchester City recently emerged.
The Brazilian defender has been in commanding form this season and his displays have helped the Nerazzurri to comfortably top the Serie A standings. His agent Antonio Caliendo told the media that the player is staying with Inter for now.
According to both Tuttomercatoweb.it, Caliendo stressed that his client will remain with the Biscion, and will only move if it is to an elite club such as Manchester United or Real Madrid.
Caliendo said it would not make sense for the “best player in his position” to move to a club such as City, as they are not participating in the Champions League.
The agent may have closed the door on Eastlands, but he did not deny Maicon’s willingness to join one of Europe’s elite clubs.
