Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon’s stock is rising once again, after a spectacular start to a season that has seen him make miraculous saves in a number of games.
The Italy custodian has rediscovered his top form following a period marred with injuries and inconsistency.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is rumoured to be interested in Buffon as a replacement for the aging Edwin van der Sar, while Bayern Munich have yet to find a solid replacement for their imposing stopper Oliver Kahn. According to Tuttosport, both clubs will likely test the resolve of the Bianconeri come this summer.
It is unlikely that la Vecchia Signora will sell, given Buffon’s impressive form and the fact that he was loyal to the club during its most difficult period following a demotion to the Serie B.
