Inter full-back Davide Santon will not be leaving the club following the recent concerns regarding his playing time.
The youngster has not featured in the last couple of games and was reportedly disappointed by his lack of first-team action.
The emerging full-back has broken into the Azzurri under Marcello Lippi and still harbours ambition of representing his country in South Africa 2010. His absence from the starting line-up, and in recent times from the squad altogether, is endangering his chances of making the World Cup.
Santon’s agent Renzo Contratto told Tuttomercatoweb.com that the 18-year-old will not be leaving the club and is not on the transfer list. Contratto added that reports claiming his client wants a move to Napoli are inaccurate.
With the World Cup looming large, it remains to be seen whether the young player will remain with the Nerazzurri given the strong competition for places and the fact Brazilian star Maicon and Romanian defender Cristian Chivu occupy the flanks, while club captain Javier Zanetti often alternates between both sides.
