Juventus are seeking a long-term replacement for Italy skipper Fabio Cannavaro, who is nearing the end of a glittering career capped by the World Cup triumph in Berlin.

Bari’s Andrea Ranocchia is one of the centre-backs being tracked by la Vecchia Signora, and is considered as one of the most promising defensive players in the peninsula. Ranocchia has helped the Galletti to the impressive feat of conceding the least number of goals in Serie A, despite the limited budget in comparison with elite clubs such as Juventus, Inter and Fiorentina.

The centre-back is actually owned by Genoa and la Gazzetta dello Sport claims  il Grifone would like to cash in on the rising star. The 21-year-old is attracting interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool as well as Italian giants Milan and Inter, which implies that the Old Lady face stiff competition for his signature.
