Juventus striker David Trezeguet is reportedly on the verge of returning to first team football after shaking off an injury which was expected to sideline him till early 2010.
The club’s official website had previously reported that the Frenchman suffered a calf injury that would keep him out for a significant period, but it appears that the 32-year-old could be back earlier than expected.
According to Tuttosport, the hitman will likely be included in the squad to face Inter, but there is no confirmation if he will start or even feature against the Nerazzurri.
This news will be a massive boost for the Bianconeri and coach Ciro Ferrara, as the side have been floundering with Amauri still struggling for form and club talisman Alessandro Del Piero just returning from injury.
The Old Lady will be facing bitter rivals Inter in a Serie A showdown in Turin before hosting Bayern Munich in European competition. The return of Trezeguet will be a welcome relief for the Turin side.
