Inter beat Rubin Kazan to book their place in the second pot of teams in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Half an hour was all it took for Jose Mourinho’s men to take the lead, when a superb counterattack from Javier Zanetti saw Mario Balotelli cleverly send a back heeled pass to Samuel Eto’o, who had no choice but to do justice to the quality shown by the aforementioned two players.
Balotelli scored a scorcher in the second half through a sensational free-kick from 34 metres out to ensure that the Biscion booked their spot among the 16 elite teams left in the prestigious competition.
