Fiorentina earned a memorable win against Liverpool at an atmospheric Anfield, which enabled them to finish at the summit of Champions League Group E.
The Reds had taken the lead through a header from Yossi Benayoun about two minutes before half time, but the visitors came back strongly in the second period to come back into the game through a goal from Martin Jorgensen.
The game looked set to end all square at one apiece, but the Gigliati domination towards the end paid off when Alberto Gilardino tapped one in following a good cross from Juan Manuel Vargas.
The monumental victory ensured that the Italians finished on top of their group.
