Roma captain Francesco Totti has given the strongest indication yet about his desire to wear his national colours again, in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The striker helped la Nazionale triumph in Germany 2006 but has not featured for Italy since then.

Totti told la Repubblica he will join the Azzurri  if he gets called up by Marcello Lippi, provided he feels he is fully fit and can contribute.

The key for his inclusion will be whether the other players will welcome Totti, as he has not contributed to Italy’s qualification to the World Cup.
